Have we changed in the digital smartphone age ?
Have we changed in the digital smart phone age? Obviously some of our behaviors have changed. For instance we stare at smartphones all day. But if you take away that one behavior we still do the same things that people have done since the beginning. We eat we sleep we play we work.
The way we communicate has also changed. Texting seems to be the communication mechanism of choice. it's weird how many people don't really want to talk to you on the phone; just send me a text. It allows us to get tiny little pieces of information that we can then make bigger decisions on without getting bogged down in a 10 or 15 minute phone call where all you talk about is the weather and sports and stuff you really don't care about anyway. So has it changed us fundamentally? no. It has streamlined or optimized certain behaviors to match what we really wanted to do all along. We like communicating on our terms.
Like Joe Walsh said in the song, just leave a message and maybe I'll call
